In spite of the fact that our client, legal representative of a leisure boat shipping company, had originally been found guilty in second instance by the Piraeus Three-Member Misdemeanor Court both for using forged documents and for attempting to obtain a false certificate, Machas & Partners Law Firm filed on his behalf a Notice of appeal against the above Judgment of conviction, which was upheld by the Sixth Criminal Division of the Supreme Court of Greece (Areios Pagos).

βš–This resulted in overturning the conviction in its entirety, on the one hand for lack of specific and detailed reasoning, and on the other, for misinterpretation and misapplication of substantive provisions of Criminal Law.

πŸ’‘The Judgment of the Supreme Court not only constitutes a great vindication for our client, but also plays a significant role in the correct interpretation of articles 216 and 220 of the Criminal Code, as well as in the determination of the conditions for the criminal Judgments concerning the above-mentioned crimes to be considered justified.

πŸ‘Our client was represented before the Supreme Court by our Founding Partner, Petros Machas, and by our Associate, Dimitris Zanganas.
