Sofia Chrysakopoulou, Associate from our firm’s Employment – Civil law team, recently participated as a speaker in an event entitled “Facing violence and harassment in the world of work”, organized by the Research Centre for Gender Equality (KETHI) and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
The event, which took place on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the “Konstantinos Michalos Entrepreneurship Center” of EBEA, aimed to prevent and address violence and harassment in the workplace. It was the first in a series of information and awareness-raising actions to be carried out by KETHI in collaboration with organizations active in the field of employment and equal treatment.
In the event, Sofia participated in the panel «EBEA: Practices and experiences from private sector institutions and companies», where she focused on the strategy that companies must adopt to create and promote a work environment free from incidents of violence and harassment. She also highlighted the steps that companies can take to ensure the efficient operation and effectiveness of this strategy. Additionally, she referred to the rights of affected persons and the consequences that are envisaged for perpetrators of incidents of violence and harassment in the workplace.
The event organized by KETHI and ACCI highlights the importance of addressing violence and harassment in the workplace. Employers must take measures to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety and well-being of their employees. It is essential to create a work environment that is free from any form of violence and harassment, which can ultimately lead to increased productivity and employee satisfaction.
